Gold's Gym Grand Opening - simi valley, ca

bringing health to the community in a BIG way!

gold's gym have taken the work-out to another level. the grand opening of simi valley, ca was an enormous success. it brought together the young, old, the inspired and committed all under one roof.

recording artist, melissa g came out and shook the event up a bit and made it fun for all. take a look at just a few of the images that i shot during the event.

i went around and photographed some really cool shots. the one that comes to mind is the cycling room. with the mirrors and glass all around it is like your rid
ing in a pack of hundreds rather than 20-30.kids always add a great energy to any event. i really think that the bounce house, rock wall and slide weren't just for the kids.

Quote of the Month

To laugh often and much;

To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;

To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

This is to have succeeded.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

ask any of my friends or family "what makes joey tick?" this would be a quote that would surface time and time again. to find the words that Ralph Waldo Emerson used to describe SUCCESS and try to restructure them to mean more... would take a life time. hopefully, my life will succeed those before me and most importantly help pave a road of greater success for those that follow after me.

Jake's Bar Mitzvah

blending a tradition dating back to their father's fathers, today's generation has an enormous respect to the path taken and for the path being taken today. a path taken by men and women that see life as a ball of energy that brings light to all whom are present. jake's bar mitzvah was full of light, humor, music and love. all to be shared by his family and friends. what a great moment in life to be present.

looking at the elders "pause of reflection" was a very powerful moment.

jake's portrait captured his pride written all over his face.

asking all those present to come up and light their candles captured the spirit and love shared by all the lives he has touched.

Jake's online bar mitzvah album

i am grateful to be given this opportunity to be PRESENT.

i would like to share a letter that a bride sent us that really makes our love for what we do come "full circle".

dear joey:
i am not sure if i can ever thank you enough for what you have done for my family and me. when my photographer (friend) canceled just days before the wedding, i was crushed, but now i realize it was the best thing that happened. when i first spoke with you, i trusted that you would do a good job and capture the "emotion" of the day.

i did not know, however, that you and karen would capture every detail.

from the beginning, i felt comfortable with you zipping around (i am still not sure how you can get around so quickly and so unobtrusively.) you took pictures of things that i had no idea you were taking. immediately after our ceremony, when you led nick and me away, nick said "having joey do our wedding was the best decision we could have made." for nick to say something like that; let's just say is huge.

your enthusiasm was amazing, it seemed like you were just as excited about our wedding as we were, which only made us more confident and excited. not only was i taken aback by how beautiful we appeared in the pictures, my family was thrilled with the results. remember how they paraded your signature portrait around at the brunch?

in addition to providing beautiful photographs, i want to thank you for bringing back all the feelings i had on my wedding day. when you first showed us some of your signature pictures, they brought me to tears. looking at the picture of nick and me hugging in front of the tree (you know the one) allows me to relive that moment.

i have heard nothing but compliments from all the family and friends with whom i have shared your website. everyone thinks your photographs are simply amazing. my other vendors want to use the pictures for their advertising.

i guess what i have been trying to say is that i put an enormous amount of time, effort, love (not to mention money) into planning nick and my wedding, and when i look back on the pictures, i can see it and relive it all. you captured all the little details, from how everything looked to how everyone was smiling and laughing on the dance floor. that is a gift that no one could have given to us. i know that fifty years from now, we can look at the pictures and remember how we felt on that beautiful day. thank you for giving us that.

your loyal bride and friend,
jessica
