10 Years Ago today...Happy Anniversary!

who said "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get" it was actually forest, forest gump! our first movie together.

now, let's go back 14 years to our little home town... known as "the big apple"!


i knew one day i would meet my husband and it would happen in my home town of new york city... literally the day after i flew into jfk for a job assignment based out of los angeles, on february 2nd, 1995 i met my future husband february 3rd 1995! talk about fate! walking the streets of manhattan at union station and seeing where the day would take us is one of my favorite memories of our courtship. you see joey's pony tail here? well, his hair was longer than mine when we met. it was a very sexy look on him. just never ask him the story about cutting his hair... please!!!


we were married on june 5th, 1999. so, today we celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary! this image on the golf course is a classic favorite for ours, just having fun and taking in the moment... we look soooooo young! i can't believe i still can fit into that wedding dress! wow!


now look at us, 14 years later with 2 crazy kids and love for each other that is like a "box of chocolates". you never know what your gonna get, but, you know what? it's the sweetest tasting chocolate i've ever had.

to my soul mate, i thank you, i love you, "forever and a day"!

there comes a time in a guys life that everything happens the way one would script it if asked..."how would you like the story to begin?" this happened to jason, (enter gina).




the two of them on together, let alone on film is SMOKIN! we met gina and jason at el matador beach in malibu, california for a sunday session before jason reported for duty in san diego on monday morning.


making an effort to have a day at the beach is always an event. climbing down 4 flights of stairs with gear is even a BIGGER event but worth every step. el matador is breathless. something right out of a far away destination in the tropics, cabo san lucas i heard karen say.


one thing that stands out during our session is what gina said she loved about our photography. she found our photography to be beautiful art, lifestyle imagery not just picture taking. true to form, i was inspired so, "i put my neck out there" and climbed into the ocean and captured one hell of a shot...just before getting PUMBLED by a wave. ROCK STEADY!


the weather, the location and a beautiful, carefree and fun couple made for a fun, fun time.





now gina and jason can no longer say "they have never been photographed professionally." wow, look at them!

Jennifer and Greg - engagement

one lazy saturday afternoon karen and i met jennifer and greg in malibu for some lunch to talk about everything weddings…theirs. funny story…while karen and i were getting out of our car i spotted a really cute couple in the parking lot getting out of a convertible mini cooper.



i mentioned to karen that the couple looked good together…karen said…that’s them, jennifer and greg! can i pick’em or what. you see, we never met them before but karen and jennifer have been attached at the hip emailing eachother and texting.



we met them at the beachcombers café right on the pier and had a great lunch and even better time getting to know what made them tic. what seemed to be a short lunch turned into a 2hr. siesta (minus the napping). now, me likie siestas so i was as happy as a clam. literally.

jennifer and greg drove all the way to malibu from southbend indiana…no, seriously they flew into john wayne, picked-up their mini cooper (sweet ride) drove out to have lunch with us without missing a beat. you see, jennifer and greg are having a destination wedding right here in socal.

not wanting to let them go home without having an engagement portrait before their wedding. karen and i planned something really special for the two of them…"joey carman" style. by the looks of things…jennifer and greg almost had as good of a time as we did. lol









just as we were saying good-bye, camera turned off getting ready to leave greg had this look that could only best be described with a photo. never stops. sometimes i just have to “walk away” haha.




congratulations to jennifer and greg. we are sooooo happy to have met you both and look forward to spending some more time together, ”capturing your life…”

Lisa and Luciano "Lucky" - engagement

so the story goes... a long time ago lisa and lucky met, built a relationship over lonnnnnnnnnng talks in the car at the beach, falling in love with your soul mate and laughter. then one day luciano proposed to lisa oooooooooooooooon...this very beach. AHHHH!


i found their story to be very much in sync with who they are today. sometimes a books cover only shows just so much or not what lies within. without even giving a second thought luciano is a book that lisa has cracked WIDE open. when you are talking with them you can see how lisa brings out the inner boy in luciano and how luciano embraces the laughter that is soooooooooooooooooooooo lisa.





karen and i met lisa and lucky in santa barbara at the SBBE (santa barbara bridal expo) a few months back and instantly knew they were something special. lisa made a few passes, asked us a whole gaggle of questions and uncovered in us what we saw in them. a beauty that comes from within.




flash forward again to the engagement session. almost at every turn, without fail, we found lisa and lucky giggling like two little kids. but the instant they felt a moment between them...we got it.









we enjoyed our time together, however short...cuz lucky had a game to watch (game 7 lakers over rockets). lol

see you both really, really soon. can't wait.

tabetha and brandon........what can we say about this couple that these silly, funny, sexy, crazy, sweet and just down right kicking photos can't say for us. we had a great time walking around santa barbara with them discovering the city all over again as well as uncovering the playfulness in them that sooooooooooooooooooo translates on film!
















their wedding day will be here before you know it. trust me!
