Michelle and Bill - engagement

michelle and bill on-line proofing website

it is really nice to have a connection with our brides and grooms and findinig out simular likes and dislikes. like, i found out that michelle and bill played in the band...marching band that is. i also played in marching band. i found out that a buddy of mine went to hawaii on a band trip and thought that it was the coolest thing.....so, i spent the whole summer "splitten" my lip on an olds trumpet my ma bought me at a pawn shop down the way. i got good enough to sit in, at times, third and second trumpet in my high school marching band. pretty cool experience and made some life long friends.

when i found out that bill played the trumpet i immediately asked him if i could create a portrait for him that emulated a great portrait of chuck mangioni on the cover of his "feels so good" album.

the reserved, quite demeanor of both michelle and bill added an allure of attraction to both of them that i thought translated wonderfully on film. as we strolled through the halls of the santa barbara courthouse i spotted an "ol school" telephone booth that only made for what was calling out to me as one hell of a sexy portrait.

what i enjoy the most is sometimes enjoying in others what they enjoy in each other.

think about it.

  1. Just how some brides see their wedding dress for the first time and know it’s “the one,” the decision to choose you, Joey, to document the moments on our special day was just as easy of a decision to make. I knew that with your experience and passion for photography that each image you took would capture an artistic element to the story of our relationship. It’s one thing for a person to do their craft and make it look effortless, but things go to a whole new level when both of the novice individuals involved feel that there’s no such thing as a better end product out there. Thank you for ensuring that we took an opportunity during our engagement to slow down, enjoy each others’ companionship, and serve as a reminder of what this crazy little thing called love is all about.

I so can’t wait to see our wedding day through your eyes and expertise.

  2. I am not well versed as Michelle, but I would like to say that the photos look great! I was a little nervous......ok, a lot!!! I appreciated your laid back attitude, yet you were very professional. That is what turned an otherwise uncomfortable experience into a memorable and enjoyable one.

Job well done! See you on May 17th.(Just kidding. July 19th.) - Bill
